Syed Abid Husain is another grandson of Haji Syed Sajjad Husain and the translator and narrative adapter of this English-language edition. Drawing on Dr. Syed Sajid Husain's original Urdu biography and on the family's continuing oral history, he undertook this narrative rendering so that a family now scattered well beyond the borders either country recognized in 1947 could still meet the man at its root, in a language more of his descendants now call their own. This edition is offered in that spirit — as a family's continuing effort to make sure a forgotten soldier of the Pakistan Movement is forgotten no longer.
