Dr. Syed Sajid Husain, M.D., is the grandson of Haji Syed Sajjad Husain and the author of the original Urdu biography, Tehreek-e-Pakistan ka Aik Gumnaam Sipahi, first published in Karachi in October 2017. He was seven years old when he crossed into Pakistan at his grandfather's side, among the first members of the family to make that journey, and his childhood and youth were spent largely in his grandfather's company. He later studied at Punjab University before continuing his education in the United States, where he completed his medical training and earned his M.D. — fulfilling an aspiration his grandfather had voiced for him since boyhood. Dr. Husain spent years gathering the family papers, photographs, correspondence, and personal recollections on which the original biography is built, undertaking the work so that his grandfather's life, and the generation of Pakistan Movement workers he represents, would not be lost to family memory alone.
