When the ISB Treasurer, Aijaz Hasan, had to step aside to care for his ailing father, Tom didn’t hesitate. He stepped up to serve on the ISB Council, ensuring stability and trust during a crucial time. His expertise and steady hand soon earned him a place on the Financial Advisory Board (FAB), where his professionalism and compassion meet seamlessly.
Beyond formal meetings and roles, Tom’s heart for humanity shines most in his eagerness to help the poor and needy. Quietly and without seeking praise, he goes out of his way to assist families in distress — whether through financial guidance, connecting them to resources, or simply offering his time.
One winter, a local refugee family—newly arrived from Syria—struggled to pay rent. Tom heard about their situation during an ISB meeting. That evening, he drove across town to meet the landlord, negotiated a payment plan, and quietly covered the first installment himself. “They’ve been through enough,” he said, brushing off praise.
