Instead, its roots were planted through the dedication of one individual and the shared dreams of many families who desired reliable Islamic education for their children. At the center of this journey stands Sheikh Ahfaz Ahmed—a humble scholar, devoted teacher, inspiring khatib, and steadfast community leader—whose tireless commitment has molded AIK into the institution it is today.
Sheikh Ahfaz, affectionately referred to as “Imam Ahfaz,” has embraced multiple roles within the Al-Madina Institute of Knowledge (AIK), serving as steward, founder, principal scholar, and caretaker. He is a constant presence, regularly opening the doors for prayer, teaching students across all age groups, delivering Friday sermons, and guiding families. His unwavering dedication has brought spiritual stability to Al-Madina Masjid. Gentle in manner yet resolute in purpose, Sheikh Ahfaz is driven by the conviction that when individuals are provided with sound knowledge, compassionate educators, and an environment grounded in the Sunnah, future generations will emerge with clarity, dignity, and self-assurance.
Although AIK’s formal establishment dates back to 2014, its spirit and vision have existed far longer. The institute’s mission is both simple and profound:

To date, AIK has produced 24 graduates at the master’s level in Islamic studies.
