Reason for Writing

"Whoever loves something, mentions it often." Haji Syed Sajjad Husain wrote those words himself, and beneath them, in the pages that follow, is his own devotional poem in praise of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him — a private expression of a faith that ran under every public act of his life like a current under a river. He believed that wherever a person turned, the light of that guidance was present; that believer found illumination through it; and that love for it gave meaning to a human life spent in politics, in business, and in the ordinary difficulty of raising a family in an unsettled century.

What follows is that life, told as fully as memory, paper, and love could reconstruct it.
